Creating Your Scholarly Online Profile (Workshop 1)

In this workshop series, MRU faculty will learn principles and best practices for online scholarly engagement 
and promotion.

Those in higher education across the globe are facing new demands for their teaching and research beyond the walls of the academy, and an ever-increasing need to engage within the public sphere. Moving from introductory to more advanced digital engagement approaches, these workshops focus on capturing impact and practical ways to build one’s scholarly online presence. 

Audience
These workshops are intended for MRU faculty who are actively disseminating their scholarship and seeking wider audiences, as well as those who are interested in creating, developing, or strengthening their scholarly online presence.  

Workshop Topics and Outcomes
Workshops will cover key strategies and technologies for building and enhancing  scholarly online profiles. Participants will have hands-on opportunities to create and practice using the tools themselves, with the guidance of the facilitators. 

  • Creating a Scholarly Online Profile (Workshop 1):
    Create your scholarly profile using Google Scholar and manage your scholarly workflow using a digital identifier via ORCID.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop or tablet that connects to the Internet; 
additional laptops can be made available by request.

Cookies and drinks to be provided; feel free to bring your lunch.
