Faculty Lunch and Learn: Meaningful Inclusion and Student Engagement, by Design

Despite our best efforts, sometimes we struggle to bring all of our students with us on the educational journey of our courses. During this Lunch & Learn, a roundtable of faculty and students will discuss some intentional efforts of educators to engage all of their students, with their varied needs. Faculty members Ada Jaarsma (Humanities) and Janet Arnold (Psychology) will be joined by education and disability specialist Patricia Pardo (Director of Accessibility Services) and students Cordelia Snowdon (SAMRU VP Academic) and Lia Serpentini to:

  • Foster community around principles of inclusion and engagement for all;
  • Share purposeful inclusive design choices MRU faculty have made;
  • Discuss benefits to students; and
  • Encourage participants to identify one change they might make to their courses, providing resources to help them do so

Join us for what promises to be an engaging discussion. Please feel free to bring your own lunch.
