Going Deep Book Study: Radical Hope: A Teaching Manifesto, by Kevin M. Gannon

“It has never been more difficult to teach in higher education than in our current moment,” Gannon writes, listing a “litany of problems and obstacles both faculty and students face on a daily basis.” But Gannon warns us against the toxicity of responding with cynicism, instead laying out a plan for cultivating radical hope--not the hollow platitudes often conjured by the word “hope,” but rather, the generative hope that comes from clear-eyed and sustainable change that faculty can make in their classrooms.

Participants will be able to access an online version of this book that we will read and discuss together throughout the winter term.
