Course Redesign Institute

Join us in this 4-week series as we guide you through the process of reimagining your courses, from examining course outcomes and assessment to exploring new ideas for learning activities. Participants of this hands-on institute will complete asynchronous work (e.g., readings, short activities) and attend weekly in-person sessions, reflecting on how these various aspects of course design might influence their pedagogical choices.

During this institute, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Articulate a concise teaching philosophy statement that can guide course redesign decisions and be shared with students;
  • Map out key course components, including learning outcomes, content selection, learning experiences, and assessment strategies, to foster constructive alignment;
  • Explore approaches for intentionally designing activities and assessments that are applicable to a wide range of teaching contexts.

In addition to producing tangible artifacts that can be implemented in your courses, the insights gained during this institute can serve as a foundation for further exploration of specific topics offered through other ADC programs, such as The AI Integrated Classroom.
