Oct 1: A walk with Dwayne Donald at the Confluence Historical Site

Walk into a new story of Reconciliation with Dr. Dwayne Donald 

Timed during the week of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Mount Royal University faculty are invited to join a transformative ADC professional learning experience centered on repairing inherited colonial divides in education. Inspired by the work of Dr. Dwayne Donald—Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Reimagining Teacher Education with Indigenous Wisdom Traditions and descendant of the Beaver Hills people—this series explores how the Cree wisdom concept of wâhkôhtowin (kinship relationality) can cultivate a new story for living and teaching together.

Co-sponsored by the University of Calgary, participants will engage in pre-reading, a walk with Dwayne Donald at the Confluence Historical Site (Oct 1), a group van trip for a River Valley walking tour in Edmonton led by Dr. Donald (Oct 3), and a personalized follow-up "walk and talk" with ADC facilitator Joshua Hill.
